This is a shortish romantic suspense with a definite Australian theme. We go from North Queensland’s beaches to the Northern Territory’s harsh outback. Newcomer Karlene Blakemore-Mowle has an excellent writing style and manages to incorporate a lot of action and a strong relationship into a very short space of time. Tully is in hiding and on the run, and her new neighbour Jake is former army. He knows there’s a lot more to this woman than she’s letting on. When her past catches up with her he insists on running with her.
This isn’t a perfect story, but it was a great, fast-paced read. It would have been a much better story if it was longer and it’s a pity this is not a full novel. Blakemore-Mowle is an excellent writer, and has another romantic suspense coming out later this year. I have read she has a contract for a full length outback romance to come out soon, and I can’t wait to read something longer by this promising writer

  1. Hi Karlene,
The review is fabulous. She wished it was longer... well I believe you have a longer one under contract and more on the way.
The reviewers comments are so favourable, but I have read fallout and I thought it was truly amazing. Loved it.

  3. Wow, Karly, you seem to be on a roll lately! I can't believe it was a year ago when we were at the conference, and you didn't have a book contract. Now, look at you! You're on fire!

See you in a few weeks. Btw, please forgive me - I stole your conference countdown widget because it's such an awesome gadget. Makes me excited just looking at it. Woo hoo!!

    :-) Mon
